The co-founder of the referral cryptocurrency project Onfocoin, John Forsait, was found dead from a gunshot wound a week after his disappearance. The Associated Press<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

On May 21, relatives contacted the Missouri State Police in connection with Forsait’s disappearance, who worked as an emergency department physician.<\/p>\n

A week later, authorities located the missing man’s car, parked a few kilometres from the hospital. His wallet, passport, laptop and work portfolio were inside the unlocked car.<\/p>\n

The murdered man’s younger brother, Richard Forsait, noted that John always carried his phone and never missed work without a reason.<\/p>\n

The doctor’s body was found on May 30, about an hour’s drive from the location where he was last seen. Police said the motives for the crime were probably not related to his cryptocurrency activities.<\/p>\n

Richard and John Forsaits founded the Onfocoin project in 2020. The startup allowed users to earn ONFO coins by directing others to the platform of the so-called “network mining”.<\/p>\n

Onfocoin spread the idea of the inevitable collapse of the US dollar. The project’s team ran a YouTube channel<\/a> with “revolutionary” videos about global decentralization and digital assets. However new videos had not appeared for more than a year.<\/p>\n

In 2020, Forbes named John Forsait a “Bitcoin millionaire”. He had become acquainted with cryptocurrencies as a first-year student at college and was an advocate of blockchain technologies.<\/p>\n

In June 2021 off the coast of Costa Rica an early Bitcoin investor<\/a> Mircea Popescu drowned. Several days earlier in Spain was found dead<\/a> 75-year-old entrepreneur John McAfee.<\/p>\n

On November 1, 2022, in Puerto Rico the co-founder of MakerDAO and DAI Nikolai Mukhyan<\/a> died. A day earlier he wrote a strange post on Twitter, stating his intention to have the CIA<\/span> and Mossad<\/span> “torture him to death”.<\/p>\n
