Such activity cannot be carried out in Qatar&#8217;s Financial Centre.<\/p>\n<p>The FATF noted that Qatar had achieved &#8220;positive and sustained progress&#8221; in collecting information on beneficial owners for its nearly complete unified register of residents.<\/p>\n<p>The organisation recommended increasing controls to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the data collected.<\/p>\n<p>On 1 June 2023, in Japan <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/japans-parliament-approves-travel-rule-implementation-to-begin-on-june-1\">came into effect<\/a> the FATF&#8217;s Travel Rule, intended to monitor crypto transactions for AML purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, a similar requirement for local companies<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/south-korean-crypto-exchanges-to-comply-with-fatf-guidance\">was extended<\/a> by the Korea Financial Services Commission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Central Bank of Qatar should improve its understanding of more complex forms of financial crime and tighten compliance with the rules it has set for registered virtual asset service providers.
