On May 21, users <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/multichain-token-plunges-28-amid-network-glitches\">complained<\/a> about transactions stuck in the blockchain due to an error during a network upgrade.<\/p>\n<p>Due to network issues, the cryptocurrency exchange Binance was forced to <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/binance-suspends-deposits-of-10-tokens-amid-multichain-issues\">pause deposits<\/a> in the tokens POLS, ACH, BIFI, SUPER, AVA, SPELL, ALPACA, FTM, FARM and DEXE.<\/p>\n<p>Multichain developers promised <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/multichain-to-compensate-users-affected-by-force-majeure\">compensation<\/a> to users affected by the \u201cforce majeure.\u201d On the same day, despite the ongoing uncertainty around the project, the MULTI token price <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/multichain-token-price-jumps-36-amid-ongoing-uncertainty\">jumped 36%<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In June the team said that <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/multichain-loses-contact-with-project-chief\">could not reach<\/a> its CEO Zhao Jun amid ongoing technical problems. Rumors of the arrest of Multichain staff in China circulated in the community.<\/p>\n<p>Against this backdrop, large MULTI holders began moving funds, including through Gate.io.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Some large investors like <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HashKeyGroup?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@HashKeyGroup<\/a> have taken action, moving $250K to <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5ecSG3rKek\">https:\/\/t.co\/5ecSG3rKek<\/a> around 4 hours ago.<\/p>\n<p>An entity holding large amounts of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24MULTI&#038;src=ctag&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$MULTI<\/a> on Gate has also moved ~$1.5M to Huobi, perhaps for better pricing. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7MKnhNMeZ4\">pic.twitter.com\/7MKnhNMeZ4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Arkham (@ArkhamIntel) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ArkhamIntel\/status\/1661405158423527424?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 24, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Some users <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Dagnum_PI\/status\/1664361176057233413\">expressed<\/a> concern about Gate.io&#8217;s continued operation due to the alleged link to Multichain.
