These elements are drawn from BlackRock&#8217;s filing.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cThe exchange proposes to take additional steps [&#8230;], to expand its ability to obtain information that would be useful for detecting, investigating and deterring fraud and market manipulation,\u201d<\/em> \u2014 according to the updated document.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>CBOE intends to sign the aforementioned agreement with the operator of the spot-bitcoin trading platform. The name of the exchange is not disclosed. The partnership would augment the market-surveillance programme.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, ARK Invest analyst Yassine Elmandjra noted that other applicants could augment their proposals with similar BlackRock agreements.<\/p>\n<p><span data-descr=\"U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SEC<\/span> will review the proposal by 21Shares, ARK and CBOE on August 13, 2023 \u2014 ahead of BlackRock&#8217;s filings.<\/p>\n<p>That latest development triggered a wave of proposals from other firms. <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/valkyrie-seeks-to-register-a-spot-bitcoin-etf\">Valkyrie<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/blackrock-files-for-bitcoin-etf-launch\">BlackRock<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/wisdomtree-and-invesco-file-applications-to-launch-bitcoin-etfs\">WisdomTree and Invesco<\/a> have joined the ETF race. Fidelity Investments is expected to follow suit soon.<\/p>\n<p>So far, the SEC has rejected almost all spot Bitcoin ETF applications. The Commission carved out an exception for <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sec-quietly-approves-first-futures-based-bitcoin-etf\">ProShares<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sec-approves-futures-based-bitcoin-etfs-from-vaneck-and-valkyrie-investments\">Valkyrie Investments<\/a> products based on Bitcoin futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Grayscale <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/grayscale-sues-sec-over-refusal-to-convert-gbtc-into-an-etf\">has filed suit against the regulator<\/a> after the rejection.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire predicted that the recent wave of applications to launch cryptocurrency spot ETFs based on digital gold would lead to regulatory approval.<\/p>\n<p>Yassine Elmandjra of ARK Invest emphasized that BlackRock&#8217;s filing for a spot bitcoin fund could be a \u201cturning point on the path of digital gold to institutional recognition.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CBOE amended its filing to launch ARK 21Shares Bitcoin{{AOPEN_1}} ETF{{ACLOSE_1}}, including a joint surveillance agreement to prevent fraud and market manipulation.
