The auction of her works will take place online on the platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/linked\/120666\/art-house-sothebys-launches-curated-nft-platform-called-sothebys-metaverse\">Sotheby\u2019s Metaverse<\/a>. The organisers described the initiative as &#8216;a nod to crypto collectors&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The project uses an infrastructural solution to create <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-are-nfts\">non-fungible tokens<\/a> based on generative images \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artblocks.io\/info\/spectrum\/art-blocks-engine\">Art Blocks Engine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cSotheby\u2019s Gen Art is aimed at bringing some of the most talented and respected artists to the market. The program will be carefully curated. Organisers will focus on recruiting up to three participants per year to showcase generative works in an expanded form as a new medium,\u201d the announcement says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In 2022, Sotheby\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sothebys-hires-nft-specialist-for-its-digital-art-team\">hired<\/a> NFT specialist Brian Beccafico for the digital arts team.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in May 2023, the auction house <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sothebys-to-auction-nft-collection-from-hedge-fund-3ac\">began trading<\/a> non-fungible tokens from the failed hedge fund Three Arrows Capital.
