{"id":81092,"date":"2023-07-03T09:53:09","date_gmt":"2023-07-03T06:53:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=81092"},"modified":"2025-09-11T20:52:32","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T17:52:32","slug":"belarus-plans-a-ban-on-peer-to-peer-cryptocurrency-exchanges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/belarus-plans-a-ban-on-peer-to-peer-cryptocurrency-exchanges\/","title":{"rendered":"Belarus plans a ban on peer-to-peer cryptocurrency exchanges."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/pressmvd\/8643\">\u0433\u043e\u0442\u043e\u0432\u0438\u0442<\/a> amendments to the legislation to ban the exchange of cryptocurrencies between individuals due to rising fraud.<\/p>\n<p>According to law enforcement authorities, through exchange operations criminals &#8220;launder and convert stolen funds, transfer sums to organizers or participants in criminal schemes&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Since the start of the year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has disrupted the activities of 27 individuals providing illegal cryptocurrency exchange services.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Their total illegal income amounted to nearly 22 million Belarusian rubles (over $8.7 million at the time of writing),&#8221; the agency noted.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>For transparency and control, cryptocurrency exchange transactions will be allowed for citizens only through the Hi-Tech Park exchanges.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;This will make it impossible to launder money obtained through criminal activity.
