It allows identifying vulnerabilities in Ethereum smart contracts without deploying additional infrastructure. The Block reports this.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The new solution uses a testing technique known as <a href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%D0%A4%D0%B0%D0%B7%D0%B7%D0%B8%D0%BD%D0%B3\">fuzzing<\/a>. It involves feeding the application with incorrect, unexpected, or random data in order to identify bugs, crashes, hangs, and other faults.<\/p>\n<p>The tool employs an advanced algorithm\u2014greybox fuzzing, tailored for smart contracts. This approach focuses on systems as a whole, rather than individual functions, and, according to ConsenSys experts, is more effective than other similar solutions.<\/p>\n<p>According to them, in tandem with another open-source tool \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/consensys.io\/diligence\/scribble\/\">Scribble<\/a> \u2014 developers can streamline the process of security testing and increase the reliability of applications deployed on the Ethereum mainnet. <\/p>\n<p>In July, the crypto industry <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/crypto-industry-lost-303m-in-july-due-to-hackers\">lost $303 million<\/a> as a result of exploits and hacker attacks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Developers from Diligence, the ConsenSys unit, unveiled the Fuzzing tool.
