The U.S. presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has mounted his candidacy, opposed the introduction of CBDC. In May, he announced a ban on the digital dollar in the state.<\/p>\n

In April, another candidate for the U.S. presidency \u2014 Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. \u2014 also criticized CBDC<\/a>. He described such payment instruments as \u201cthe ultimate mechanism for social monitoring and control\u201d.<\/p>\n

In August, Miami Mayor and current presidential hopeful Francis Su\u00e1rez promised to ban CBDC if elected president.<\/p>\n

In June, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong named<\/a> the upcoming U.S. elections a key moment for regulating digital assets.<\/p>\n

\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n

According to a Grayscale report, the promotion of cryptocurrencies by presidential candidates is driven by the forecast that members of Generation Z and Millennials will make up a significant portion of voters \u2014 about 44%. Young people trust traditional institutions less and are more inclined toward new technologies.<\/p>\n
