This was stated by Monobank co-founder Mikhail Rogalsky in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XXZdzehoT1s?start=2349\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>According to him, the first cryptocurrency &#8220;has a very bad reputation&#8221; among European and Ukrainian regulators.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Since we have our own core business, placing it at risk by dealing with a high-risk asset would be illogical,&#8221; Rogalsky noted.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He also noted that the cryptocurrency issue in Ukraine is currently unsafe. The only advantage of digital assets over fiat, Rogalsky said, is the ability to bypass oversight by the local regulator.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t think Bitcoin will ever circulate freely in our country, precisely because historically the NBU regulates the currency market. My personal view is that the National Bank will not approve banks conducting crypto transactions freely,&#8221; the Monobank co-founder concluded.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>ForkLog has sought additional comments from the bank&#8217;s representatives.<\/p>\n<p>In July 2021, monobank announced plans <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ukrainian-monobank-to-allow-customers-to-buy-bitcoin\">to issue Bitcoin cards<\/a>, which would allow bank clients to transact in cryptocurrency.
