{"id":83000,"date":"2023-08-14T12:37:04","date_gmt":"2023-08-14T09:37:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=83000"},"modified":"2025-09-12T08:24:59","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T05:24:59","slug":"uniswap-sacks-developer-over-suspected-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/uniswap-sacks-developer-over-suspected-fraud\/","title":{"rendered":"Uniswap sacks developer over suspected fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hayden Adams, the founder of the centralized exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-uniswap-uni\">Uniswap<\/a>, said the platform cut a developer after he orchestrated a rug pull <span data-descr=\"a practice of inflating the value of the token created in a liquidity pool followed by a rapid withdrawal of funds\" class=\"old_tooltip\">rug pull<\/span>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Snimok-ekrana-2023-08-14-v-11.45.14.webp\" alt=\"Snimok-ekrana-2023-08-14-v-11.45.14\" class=\"wp-image-213524\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Data: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/haydenzadams\/status\/1690395983773880321\">X<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to investigation by user under the handle <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UniswapVillain\/status\/1690216623041372161\">UniswapVillain<\/a>, on August 12 in <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-layer%e2%80%912-solution-in-blockchain\">L2<\/a>-network Base from Coinbase appeared the meme token Frenstech (FRENS) built on the eponymous social <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-web3\">Web3<\/a>-platform, created by developer AzFlin.<\/p>\n<p>A few hours after the coin was deployed, he withdrew liquidity of 14 ETH (~$26,000) and a portion of the accrued fees via the Hop network bridge. Later the developer sold all the tokens.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/allen-lin-cfa\/\">LinkedIn<\/a>, AzFlin is the alias on X (formerly Twitter) and GitHub for Allen Lin, a smart-contracts engineer who has worked at Uniswap since July 2022. He was previously the lead developer of the NFT marketplace Genie.<\/p>\n<p>After the incident, Lin boasted about his \u201cachievement\u201d on social media.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Snimok-ekrana-2023-08-14-v-12.08.27.webp\" alt=\"Snimok-ekrana-2023-08-14-v-12.08.27\" class=\"wp-image-213525\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Data: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/azflin\/status\/1690487421270470658\">X<\/a>. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWas fired from Uniswap, but gained 600 new followers and villain status on Crypto Twitter,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In July 2022, in the United States, the former product manager of the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Ishan Wahi and his brother Nikhil were <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/brother-of-former-coinbase-employee-pleads-guilty-to-insider-trading\">arrested<\/a>. They were charged with fraud involving insider trading. Later Nikhil <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/brother-of-former-coinbase-employee-pleads-guilty-to-insider-trading\">pleaded guilty<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In August that year, the accused insider-trading former OpenSea employee Nathaniel Chastain <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ex-opensea-employee-accused-of-insider-trading-appeals-verdict\">challenged<\/a> the verdict. In June, jurors found him guilty of fraud and money laundering.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Huobi <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.news\/smi-huobi-obvinila-eks-sotrudnika-v-nezakonnoj-torgovle\/\">accused<\/a> a former employee of illegal trading.
