This is stated in<a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.bis.org\/publ\/bppdf\/bispap138.pdf\\\"> report<\/a> <span data-descr=\\\"Bank for International Settlements\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">BIS<\/span>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p><em>\u201cThere are concerns about the ability of developing countries to monitor crypto-asset markets and assess the risks to financial stability associated with them,\u201d<\/em> the document says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The report examines liquidity, credit, operational risks, and those associated with the absence of bank intervention and with capital movements.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p><em>\u201cOne of the ways price volatility translates into market risk is direct ownership of crypto assets by institutions or households,\u201d<\/em> the document explains.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Risk vectors may arise from particular regulatory conditions in developing-market economies.<\/p>\n<p>BIS urged local regulators to consider selective bans, curbs and regulation of specific crypto assets. It recommended establishing clear norms that would distinguish between \u201cactivity-based regulation and regulation based on entities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The report notes that many participants in developing markets view digital assets as a \u201csafe haven from volatility in domestic currencies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier BIS experts described <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bis-says-cbdcs-will-be-the-foundation-of-future-monetary-systems\"><span data-descr=\\\"national digital currencies\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">CBDC<\/span><\/a> as the foundation of future monetary systems.
