From January to August, losses Web3<\/a>-platforms from hackers and scammers totalled $1.25 billion. Such calculations were reported by Immunefi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Over the last month the figure rose by $23.4 million.<\/p>\n

The number of incidents rose to 211.<\/p>\n

Four cases are linked to the launched \u0437\u0430\u043f\u0443\u0449\u0435\u043d\u043d\u044b\u043c<\/a> 9 August Coinbase L2<\/a>-solution Base \u2014 LeetSwap<\/a>, SwirlLend<\/a>, Magnate Finance<\/a> and RocketSwap<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On this metric, the network became as much a target as Ethereum and BNB Chain. In the first, hackers carried out five successful attacks; in the second \u2014 four. In total, three blockchains accounted for 62% of all hacks.<\/p>\n

Optimism faced two incidents (9.5%); Arbitrum, Solana, Avalanche, Phantom and Linea \u2014 one each (the remaining 28.7%).<\/p>\n

Two-thirds of Web3 project losses from hacks amounted to $15.8 million. A further $7.6 million were lost to fraud.<\/p>\n

Unlike DeFi, no exploits have been recorded among centralized platforms.<\/p>\n

Immunefi bounty payouts in August totalled more than $80 million. The platform said it safeguarded $25 billion of user assets in protocols such as Chainlink, The Graph, Synthetix and MakerDAO, according to its representatives.<\/p>\n

PeckShield analysts \u043f\u0440\u0438\u0432\u0435\u043b\u0438<\/a> their August statistics: ~20 exploits totalling $17.09 million. As of the 31st, about 2,458 ETH and 1,213 BNB have been sent to Tornado Cash.<\/p>\n

According to the report<\/a> CertiK, crypto-industry-focused attackers stole $45.8 million in digital assets in August alone. From the start of the year the figure stands at $997 million.<\/p>\n

In the second quarter, the number of attacks on crypto projects grew by 63%<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Beosin experts estimated industry losses from hacks and fraud for the first half of the year at $655.6 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n
