The online gaming platform Roblox has rebutted reports that it would support payments in Ripple<\/a> for in-game items. The team called the information \u201cinaccurate,\u201d reports Decrypt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Monday, October 17, BitPay announced<\/a> the possibility of cryptocurrency payments via the Xsolla service, which handles financial operations in apps on the platform.<\/p>\n

\u201cXsolla now accepts XRP from BitPay as a payment method for its games, such as Smite and Roblox. You can use your preferred cryptocurrency to buy, play and enjoy games like never before,\u201d the processing tweet read.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

As of writing, the post had disappeared from the company\u2019s X account feed.<\/p>\n

BitPay’s chief marketing officer, Bill Zilka, told the publication about the removal of the post:<\/p>\n

News of Roblox payments integration was picked up by industry outlets, including Decrypt, Cointelegraph<\/a> and Forcast<\/a>. Their pieces were published by aggregators such as Yahoo Finance<\/a> and CoinMarketCap<\/a>. ForkLog also wrote a note. <\/p>\n

The spread of the claim was aided by reactions from influential authors on the X platform \u2014 for example, the well-known crypto trader Scott Melker with more than 900,000 followers.<\/p>\n
