{"id":86770,"date":"2023-11-08T17:00:52","date_gmt":"2023-11-08T15:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=86770"},"modified":"2025-09-13T07:36:31","modified_gmt":"2025-09-13T04:36:31","slug":"vtb-develops-technology-to-withdraw-digital-rubles-through-atms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/vtb-develops-technology-to-withdraw-digital-rubles-through-atms\/","title":{"rendered":"VTB develops technology to withdraw digital rubles through ATMs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>VTB unveiled a technology for withdrawing digital rubles through ATMs. The bank&#8217;s press service <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vtb.ru\/about\/press\/news\/?id=199903\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The first to test the new feature will be VTB Online users participating in <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/vtb-qiwi-bank-and-alfa-bank-test-the-digital-ruble\">pilot<\/a> of the Russian <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-central-bank-digital-currency-cbdc\">CBDC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Money can be withdrawn at any of the bank&#8217;s 14,000 ATMs across the country.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, the customer must point their smartphone camera at the ATM&#8217;s QR code. In the opened VTB Online app, select the digital ruble account as the source of funds.<\/p>\n<p>The funds will first be credited to a non-cash balance and then to the bank account, after which they will be available for withdrawal.<\/p>\n<p>Transfers and payments with the digital ruble for individuals are free. The business tariff for accepting CBDC as payment for goods and services will be 0.3% of the payment amount, but no more than 1,500 rubles.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, ForkLog reported that the digital ruble began testing <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/moscow-metro-begins-testing-the-digital-ruble\">in the Moscow Metro<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The law on the national cryptocurrency took effect <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/russia-legally-recognises-foreign-cbdcs\">1 August<\/a>. Citizens will be able to use the new payment instrument on a mass scale <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/central-bank-outlines-timelines-for-broad-rollout-of-the-digital-ruble\">in 2025\u20132027<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In September, the Russian Finance Ministry clarified <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/finance-ministry-sets-out-accounting-rules-for-the-digital-ruble\">the accounting treatment<\/a> of digital ruble operations.<\/p>\n<p>Banks later <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/banks-estimate-the-cost-of-implementing-the-digital-ruble\">calculated<\/a> the costs of implementing the technology.
