Athena Bitcoin Global and Genesis Coin integrate Lightning Network (LN)<\/a> into Bitcoin ATMs in El Salvador and other Latin American countries. This is reported by MarketScreener<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The initiative aims to speed withdrawals and minimise fees.<\/p>\n

The update will be rolled out gradually, starting with Chivo<\/a> devices in El Salvador, where by the end of the year 100 installations are planned to be upgraded. The rest will undergo modernization in the first quarter of 2024.<\/p>\n

As of this writing, the capacity of the Lightning Network stands at 5,460 BTC (~$200.2 million).<\/p>\n
