{"id":87101,"date":"2023-11-16T09:53:12","date_gmt":"2023-11-16T07:53:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=87101"},"modified":"2025-09-13T09:39:37","modified_gmt":"2025-09-13T06:39:37","slug":"sec-delays-decisions-on-hashdex-and-grayscale-etf-filings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/sec-delays-decisions-on-hashdex-and-grayscale-etf-filings\/","title":{"rendered":"SEC delays decisions on Hashdex and Grayscale ETF filings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)<a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/nysearca\/2023\/34-98947.pdf\\\">delayed<\/a> the decision on Hashdex&#8217;s application to launch a spot<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf\"> ETF<\/a> backed by digital gold to January 1, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In September, the digital assets manager proposed to the SEC to convert its Bitcoin futures-based ETF.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission also<a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/nysearca\/2023\/34-98944.pdf\\\">delayed<\/a> a decision on Grayscale&#8217;s Ethereum futures-based ETF.<\/p>\n<p>In September, Hashdex<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hashdex-files-for-spot-ethereum-etf\"> proposed<\/a> to regulators that a spot ETF based on the second-largest cryptocurrency be approved. In November, BlackRock<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/blackrock-files-to-launch-a-spot-ethereum-etf\"> proposed<\/a> a similar initiative.<\/p>\n<p>In August, ARK Invest and 21Shares<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ark-invest-and-21shares-file-two-ethereum-futures-etfs\"> filed<\/a> applications to launch two Ethereum-futures-based ETFs.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, six firms, including Grayscale, ProShares, Bitwise and VanEck, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/six-firms-file-applications-to-launch-an-ethereum-etf\">sought<\/a> SEC approval of similar products.
