Next, by a wide margin, are <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-tron-trx\">Tron<\/a> ($7.9 billion), BNB Chain ($2.8 billion) and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-polygon-matic\">Polygon<\/a> ($780 million).<\/p>\n<figure class=\\\"wp-block-image\\\"><img decoding=\\\"async\\\" src=\\\"https:\/\/lh7-eu.googleusercontent.com\/UNk-U7xpt7ruUd0jOn3H1lApiNkxOPbchTyyr19ahxTkN3csq1osSMoOZKg7hUhACJCq7VUx5lnbbSGQdRE2lXjzqcugds64mjZbBJ8U4p8ApNBZtfRZCbr71gJ21a1HveGgc802R-BNnf2U6A980gk\\\" alt=\\\"Report: Layer-1 solutions tenfold exceed L2 in TVL\\\"\/><figcaption class=\\\"wp-element-caption\\\">TVL of Layer-1 blockchains. Data: CoinGecko.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Total TVL across the ten largest L1 networks in April peaked at $45.3 billion, but by October had fallen to $36.5 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Six of the ten blockchains in the list operate on a Proof-of-Stake consensus; the leading cryptocurrency&#8217;s protocol is the only top-tier one that uses Proof-of-Work.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>&#8220;Although Bitcoin is the first blockchain, it ranks eighth in TVL. This is due to its nature and primary purpose\u2014to be a store of value as digital gold, rather than DeFi,&#8221; the experts explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ethereum remains the leader with a 63.1% share of locked assets. According to analysts, the growth was driven by the DeFi sector at the forefront with <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-are-makerdao-mkr-and-the-dai-stablecoin\">MakerDAO<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-curve\">Curve<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-aave\">Aave<\/a>, which at its peak accounted for 54.9% or $17.2 billion of TVL.<\/p>\n<figure class=\\\"wp-block-image\\\"><img decoding=\\\"async\\\" src=\\\"https:\/\/lh7-eu.googleusercontent.com\/otbqwiUk4nfQg5-9BXr5Q2VnBVg8mu8W1I63Q9F7jYOUMFZCWEi_BxzM4rg8JNWUEH5W0jVQ9cnk7F1L9X20hyJzdtKv8kutjFIT1mmCsUWP6BlhRzIR-mztzJSEZqUHCIGzHvBhjKwsxT1aHygWACY\\\" alt=\\\"Report: Layer-1 solutions tenfold exceed L2 in TVL\\\"\/><figcaption class=\\\"wp-element-caption\\\">Monthly TVL dynamics of blockchains. Data: CoinGecko.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Since the start of the year, Tron\u2019s share rose from $4.1 billion (12.3%) to $7.9 billion (21.6%). The TVL growth of the chain exceeded 90%. Most funds are concentrated in the JustLend and JustStables protocols.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-solana-sol\">Solana<\/a> has become the fastest-growing Layer-1 blockchain, with its TVL rising by 97.2% or $204.5 million since January. The largest protocol in the ecosystem is Solend ($65.5 million), followed by MarginFi ($65.5 million).<\/p>\n<p>The SOL token price rose by 20% on the eve after ARK Invest&#8217;s Cathie Wood praised the network&#8217;s performance.<\/p>\n<p>Newcomers <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/aptos-the-next-generation-of-blockchain-platforms\">Aptos<\/a>, Sui, Pulsechain, Tenet, Sei and Celestia lag significantly behind the leading platforms. This suggests liquidity remains concentrated primarily in the \u201cestablished\u201d blockchains.<\/p>\n<p>Total TVL for Aptos, Sui, Tenet, Sei and Pulsechain amounts to $346.8 million, with more than half ($186.8 million) attributed to the last project.<\/p>\n<p>CoinGecko previously noted the ongoing positive momentum in October. On average, the \u201cUptober\u201d effect for total digital asset market capitalization stands at 14%, the experts noted.<\/p>\n<p>The firm\u2019s researchers also compiled a ranking of miners by Bitcoin holdings.
