{"id":87206,"date":"2023-11-17T19:11:01","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T17:11:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=87206"},"modified":"2025-09-13T10:18:27","modified_gmt":"2025-09-13T07:18:27","slug":"sec-delays-hashdexs-spot-ethereum-etf-application","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/sec-delays-hashdexs-spot-ethereum-etf-application\/","title":{"rendered":"SEC Delays Hashdex&#8217;s Spot Ethereum ETF Application"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/nasdaq\/2023\/34-98948.pdf\">postponed<\/a> until January 1, 2024 its decision on Hashdex&#8217;s application to launch <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf\">ETF<\/a> based on Ethereum and <span data-descr=\"Chicago Mercantile Exchange\" class=\"old_tooltip\">CME<\/span>-traded futures based on the second-largest cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n<p>The regulator deemed it prudent to delay reviewing the documents to allow sufficient time to study the matter.<\/p>\n<p>The digital asset manager Hashdex <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hashdex-files-for-spot-ethereum-etf\">submitted<\/a> the corresponding application in September. The listing was planned on Nasdaq.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past 24 hours, the second-largest cryptocurrency fell 4.2%, according to CoinGecko.
