{"id":88132,"date":"2023-12-12T10:19:00","date_gmt":"2023-12-12T08:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=88132"},"modified":"2025-09-13T16:08:21","modified_gmt":"2025-09-13T13:08:21","slug":"uniswap-launches-on-bitcoin-sidechain-rootstock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/uniswap-launches-on-bitcoin-sidechain-rootstock\/","title":{"rendered":"Uniswap launches on Bitcoin sidechain Rootstock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The largest decentralised exchange (DEX) Uniswap has expanded its footprint into the Bitcoin ecosystem through the integration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sidechains-what-they-are-and-how-they-work\">sidechain<\/a> Rootstock. <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/tech\/2023\/12\/11\/decentralized-exchange-uniswap-arrives-on-bitcoin-sidechain-rootstock\/\\\">CoinDesk<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>The GFX Labs team, behind the Oku trading terminal, deployed the third version of the DeFi protocol.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>&#8220;The combination of Rootstock\u2019s security for Bitcoin and Ethereum smart contracts, now augmented by Uniswap v3, introduces a new dimension for on-chain swaps, liquidity depth and yield opportunities,&#8221; the developers said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Oku will supply the sidechain with trading tools, including analytics, limit orders, and will manage liquidity-provider positions.<\/p>\n<p>Uniswap, originally developed for Ethereum, was <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/uniswap-team-rolls-out-third-version-of-protocol-on-bnb-chain\">deployed on BNB Chain<\/a> in March. The DEX also supports <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-layer%e2%80%912-solution-in-blockchain\">layer-2 networks<\/a> Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/uniswap-integrates-coinbases-base-layer-2-network\">Base<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in October, co-founder and CTO Casa Jameson Lopp urged developers <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/jameson-lopp-urges-developers-to-experiment-more-with-bitcoin\">to actively experiment<\/a> with Bitcoin sidechains.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The largest decentralised exchange (DEX) Uniswap has expanded into the Bitcoin ecosystem through the integration of the Rootstock sidechain.
