To avert this, he proposed the creation of an international treaty regulating the development and deployment of artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe development of new technologies must be grounded in the inherent dignity of every person, so that digital progress can contribute to the cause of peace,\u201d the letter says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>If developers prioritize \u201cprofit or the pursuit of power,\u201d AI will only \u201cexacerbate inequality and conflicts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Pope called the emergence of generated fake news a serious problem undermining trust in the media.
