The two sides intend to cooperate in the fight against financial crime.<\/p>\n<p>One area will be information-sharing on current risks and best practices in the regulation of virtual assets. In addition, representatives of the two countries agreed to jointly identify criminal schemes in this market.<\/p>\n<p>According to FMA officials, the memorandum will bolster the effectiveness of uncovering transnational crimes involving cryptocurrencies and streamline the mechanisms for seizing illicit assets.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier plans were announced to establish in Kazakhstan <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/eaeu-states-to-standardise-the-labeling-of-illicit-bitcoin-transactions\">International Association for Crypto Compliance<\/a>. The new public organization will be tasked with implementing unified <span data-descr=\"anti-money laundering\" class=\"old_tooltip\">AML<\/span>\/<span data-descr=\"counter-terrorism financing\" class=\"old_tooltip\">CFT<\/span> standards in the market.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Kazakhstan&#8217;s FMA halted activities at <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/kazakhstan-tallies-closures-of-illegal-bitcoin-exchanges\">980 illicit cryptocurrency exchange platforms<\/a>.
