As part of testing, users will get to play a role-playing blockchain game to test the resilience of the CometBFT consensus algorithm.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Testers will compete in a &#8216;mining race on asteroids,&#8217; where they must farm ROID coins. Based on the results, a leaderboard will be drawn up, and those at the top will earn the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-airdrop\">airdrop<\/a> NAM tokens, equivalent to the earned tokens.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The testnet will also add the NAAN token, needed to power the spacecraft.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Developers distinguish two participant types: <a href=\\\"https:\/\/namada.deform.cc\/shielded-expedition-pilots\/\\\">\u00abpilots\u00bb<\/a> (validators) and <a href=\\\"https:\/\/namada.deform.cc\/shielded-expedition-crew\/\\\">\u00abcrew members\u00bb<\/a> (ordinary users). Registration will open on January 2, 2024 at 11:00 Kyiv time (12:00 MSK). The testnet launch is scheduled for January 15.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of genesis, a list of &#8216;targeted asteroids&#8217;\u2014tasks\u2014and more detailed information about the ROID system will be published.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the testnet airdrop, Namada allocated 65 million NAM (6.5% of the total token supply) to developers of decentralized applications and participants in the Cosmos Hub and Osmosis blockchains.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<h2 class=\\\"wp-block-heading\\\"><strong>What is Namada?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Namada is an autonomous multi-chain network focused on privacy. The blockchain uses <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-zero-knowledge-proof\">zero-knowledge proofs<\/a>, which allow transferring cryptocurrency between the Cosmos and Ethereum ecosystems without revealing on-chain data.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The protocol lets developers and users set their own privacy parameters for any compatible assets, decentralized applications, and entire blockchains without requiring changes to existing code.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The network&#8217;s consensus mechanism is called Cubic Proof-of-Stake (CPoS) and entails a well-defined penalty regime for validators. Fees in the network may be charged in multiple tokens, the list of which will be determined by developers of future applications.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The project was founded by the non-profit Anoma Foundation.
