Token up about 20%."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The PancakeSwap <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-decentralised-exchange-dex\">DEX<\/a>-platform community <a href=\"https:\/\/forum.pancakeswap.finance\/t\/discussion-for-proposal-to-reduce-cake-token-total-supply\/100\">published<\/a> a proposal to reduce the total CAKE token emission from 750 million to 450 million.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\n<cite>\u201cOver the last year, PancakeSwap has significantly updated its tokenomics, emission parameters and growth strategy. Beginning with improving <a href=\"https:\/\/pancakeswap.finance\/voting\/proposal\/0x707643dd2c2b941c7274f26a0362922198912e8549050ae9f2d1d9d71ada04bb?chain=linea\">CAKE Tokenomics v2.5<\/a> and ending with the recent launch of <a href=\"https:\/\/pancakeswap.finance\/voting\/proposal\/0x9602c8f56d01f239b88ecf914ee263cc9cdd75b8d10ae4d9536fc27b2680849c?chain=linea\">veCAKE Gauges System 4<\/a>, CAKE has room to grow further,\u201d the forum says.<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As of writing, the circulating supply of CAKE stands at about 263.8 million, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/pancakeswap\">CoinGecko<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The developers believe that a lower cap will support:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gaining market share across all networks and supporting the veCAKE model;<\/li>\n<li>Confidence in the future issuance of CAKE;<\/li>\n<li>Moving away from PancakeSwap&#8217;s hyperinflationary tokenomics;<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring sufficient flexibility for growth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the last 24 hours, CAKE&#8217;s price rose by 19.7%, according to CoinGecko. It trades above the $2.60 mark, but remains well below the all-time high reached in April 2021 ($43.96).<\/p>\n<p>The supply reduction could also positively affect BNB, whose price reached $270 (+4.6% over the last 24 hours).<\/p>\n<p>PancakeSwap remains the leading DeFi player in the BNB Chain ecosystem. <span data-descr=\"Total value locked\" class=\"old_tooltip\">TVL<\/span> on the exchange exceeds $1.8 billion.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/BNB-Chain.webp\" alt=\"BNB-Chain\" class=\"wp-image-222597\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Data: <a href=\"https:\/\/defillama.com\/chain\/BSC\">DeFi Llama<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the overall DEX ranking, the platform sits in third place, trailing only Uniswap and Curve in TVL.
