Evidence of this comes from <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/mtgoxinsolvency\/\\\">social-media posts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A number of Reddit users in the thread r\/mtgoxinsolvency said the platform is sending compensation in Japanese yen via PayPal.<\/p>\n<figure class=\\\"wp-block-image\\\"><img decoding=\\\"async\\\" src=\\\"https:\/\/lh7-eu.googleusercontent.com\/QLRHKv8nY8kECsVeakdFCuMDrOLYKH7I2CTbvUGcTYSflqdtXXcLsyQrdHeR8fBGQls17nYR68lA_5T3wY30ZE3fqIQ_c2sTBUWGDG_1GvLSx3oJid1xzFmae4E1zUF9TnP-Y7Ucuf24REJ3Lok3UUM\\\" alt=\\\"Mt.Gox creditors begin receiving payments\\\"\/><figcaption class=\\\"wp-element-caption\\\">Data: Reddit.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u201cI just got paid,\u201d <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/mtgoxinsolvency\/comments\/18qxw4z\/i_just_got_paid\/\\\">stated<\/a> by the user under the handle Free-End2543, attaching a screenshot of a document containing the payment receipt.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Another user also <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/mtgoxinsolvency\/comments\/18qxy4o\/i_got_money\/\\\">reported<\/a> receiving funds from Mt.Gox, noting that at first they mistook the email for spam.<\/p>\n<p>Another Redditor was paid 0.125 BTC for about $200. He noted that compensation to creditors would be made in several tranches, including a base tranche, an early lump-sum, and an intermediate repayment.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in September, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/mt-gox-pushes-back-compensation-deadline-by-a-year\">moved the date<\/a> of compensation forward by a year.<\/p>\n<p>As reported, Mt.Gox clients have waited ten years for the return of their funds. The civil rehabilitation process began in June 2018. In 2021, the Tokyo court <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/court-approves-mt-gox-creditors-bitcoin-restitution-plan\">approved<\/a> the plan proposed by the exchange.<\/p>\n<p>The custodian <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/mt-gox-trustee-submits-2-6-billion-plan-to-compensate-bitcoin-creditors\">presented<\/a> the proposal for compensation in December 2020. In January 2021, the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/details-emerge-of-mt-gox-creditors-payouts\">details of the plan<\/a> became known, and in February the court <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/court-approves-mt-gox-creditors-restitution-plan\">approved<\/a> it for subsequent voting.<\/p>\n<p>It <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/mt-gox-creditors-begin-online-vote-on-bitcoin-restitution-plan\">began<\/a> on May 31 and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/mt-gox-creditors-back-plan-for-bitcoin-restitution\">ended<\/a> on October 20.
