The technology is offered to clients as a tool for launching AI programs more swiftly and efficiently.

Traditional computers store information in bits, which can be either a one or a zero. Quantum devices use qubits, which can represent a zero, a one, or a superposition of both states simultaneously. This allows the computer to consider multiple possibilities at once, solving problems that classical systems find challenging.

However, qubits are extremely fragile and prone to errors. Some advanced technologies require an ultra-cooled and quiet environment.

The startup’s CEO, Gerald Mullally, described the Manhattan system as “one of the most powerful quantum computers in the world,” as it is “capable of performing thousands of quantum operations before errors start to dominate.”

The entrepreneur plans to upgrade the computer to a more powerful system by 2028. The company has also installed quantum complexes in data centres in Tokyo, Japan, and Reading, UK.

Mullally stated that the company will spend “tens of millions of dollars” over the next three to five years on purchasing Nvidia chips.

Clients will be able to access the new facility by 2025, with full commercial operations planned for 2026.

In February 2025, Microsoft announced its first chip for quantum computing — Majorana 1. The company “created an entirely new state of matter” — topological.

In March, a research team from the University of Science and Technology of China developed a prototype superconducting quantum computer with 105 qubits and 182 connectors.

The British startup Oxford Quantum Circuits has installed the first quantum computer in New York at a data centre in Manhattan.

[3
438,575,1360
post-88932","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-and-analysis","tag-artificial-intelligence","tag-quantum-computers","tag-quantum-computing
["GET
