A key improvement will be the implementation of the PeerDAS protocol (<span data-descr=\"Ethereum Improvement Proposal\" class=\"old_tooltip\">EIP<\/span>-7594), which is expected to double the network&#8217;s throughput.<\/p>\n<p>Researcher Christine Kim <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/christine_dkim\/status\/1968764438535655696\">noted<\/a> that after the update&#8217;s activation, it will take two weeks to increase the volume of data stored in BLOB objects:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>in the first week, the value will increase from 6\/9 to 10\/15;<\/li>\n<li>in the second week, it will rise to 14\/21.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Their usage has been growing since the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-developers-activate-dencun-hard-fork-on-mainnet\">implementation of the Dencun hard fork<\/a> in March 2024. Currently, the average number of <span data-descr=\"large binary data objects\" class=\"old_tooltip\">BLOB<\/span> objects per block is 5.1. The initiative aims to identify vulnerabilities in Fusaka&#8217;s code before its release. The prize fund is $2 million.<\/p>\n<p>The next major update for the second-largest cryptocurrency network will be Glamsterdam.
