One of the developers behind NewTON, Anatoly, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/proekt-newton-zapustil-testovuyu-set-na-baze-razrabotok-komandy-pavla-durova\/\">shared<\/a> some details about the project with ForkLog.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The team started working on NewTON two weeks prior to the launch. Aside from the test net, they were making tools for development, governance, and validation, as well as mobile and web wallets.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b><i>\u201cThe project is being developed in accordance with the principles of decentralization and open source. Community members act as validators,\u201d <\/i><\/b><i>said Anatoly.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Currently, there are about 30 developers on the team, many of which have won <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/contest\/102\">TON Blockchain Contests<\/a> and other competitions.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b><i>\u201cThe community is made up of independent developers. We\u2019re aren\u2019t part of any for-profit organizations and are located all over the world. There are no former or current Telegram employees among us,\u201d <\/i><\/b><i>NewTON developer noted.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Anatoly believes that the team behind Telegram Open Network did the bulk of the work by solving the problems of scalability and transaction speed in their design:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b><i>\u201cThis is indeed a next-generation network and we wouldn\u2019t want to such a technology going to waste.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The next steps for NewTON are reviewing TON\u2019s code and creating a development plan.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b><i>\u201cAs of now, we want to refine the process of collaboration on the blockchain code and are focus on that goal exclusively. Any questions about a token would be premature.
