The stablecoin is fully backed by liquid dollar equivalents\u2014cash and short-term treasury bonds\u2014at a 1:1 ratio.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On September 19, Ethereum co-founder and ConsenSys CEO Joseph Lubin <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/consensys-chief-mask-token-to-launch-very-soon\">stated<\/a> that MetaMask is also preparing to launch a native token in the near future.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Stablecoin Market Landscape\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>The increase in mUSD issuance coincided with a general rise in the supply of dollar-pegged stablecoins, reaching $279.8 billion.
