Nodes will receive small fragments and use erasure coding to reconstruct the remaining information. Buterin described this approach as unique.<\/p>\n<p>For certain operations in the initial version of PeerDAS, full data will still be required. However, only one honest node will be needed for this, making the system resilient to attacks.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion began after analyst hildobby reported a record in the Ethereum network\u2014six <span data-descr=\"large binary data objects\" class=\"old_tooltip\">BLOBs<\/span> per block. Together, L2 solutions pay about $200,000 per week in fees to the main network, although many BLOBs remain partially empty.<\/p>\n<p>Buterin noted that the number of large binary data objects will be gradually increased to test the system.
