Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coinglass.com\/pro\/futures\/OpenInterest\">Coinglass<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Trading Day and Night<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The announcement of \u201cuninterrupted\u201d operations followed comments by CME Chairman and CEO Terry Duffy at a joint <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5Kzp9Ln8zTU\">roundtable<\/a> with the <span data-descr=\"U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">CFTC<\/span> and <span data-descr=\"U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SEC<\/span> on October 1, where he stated that the financial sector is entering a \u201c24\/7 era.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cI believe this is the world we will live in, and the market will demand it,\u201d Duffy said in discussions with regulators.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He added that cryptocurrency is \u201cthe best way to achieve this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other exchange executives at the roundtable shared similar views. Jeff Sprecher, CEO of Intercontinental Exchange, stated that markets must decide which products make sense for continuous trading.<\/p>\n<p>Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman added that the company is preparing for 24\/7 service but acknowledged operational challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Back in September, the SEC <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sec-simplifies-listing-procedure-for-crypto-etfs\">simplified<\/a> the listing procedure for crypto-<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf\">ETFs<\/a>.
