This makes the network attractive to Wall Street traders accustomed to instant settlements.<\/p>\n<p>Offchain Labs Strategy Director A.J. Warner offered a counterargument. He pointed out that the gap between Ethereum and Solana in terms of <span data-descr=\"total value locked\" class=\"old_tooltip\">TVL<\/span> in <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-decentralised-finance-defi\">DeFi<\/a> is about 15 times larger than between Solana and any other network.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The gap between Ethereum and Solana for DeFi TVL is about 15x larger than Solana and any other chain. <\/p>\n<p>TVL is definitely not everything but I don&#8217;t think you can doubt where the best place to launch new stablecoins is. <\/p>\n<p>Build within the EVM. At Token2049 in Singapore, company director Hunter Horsley told <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/solana-ethereum-queue-staking-etfs-bitwise-ceo\">Cointelegraph<\/a> that the network could surpass Ethereum in the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf\">ETF<\/a> segment with staking functionality due to its ability for quick asset unlocking.<\/p>\n<p>The corporation already offers the Bitwise Physical Solana ETP with physical SOL storage, but interest remains modest, with only $30 million under <a href=\"https:\/\/bitwiseinvestments.eu\/products\/bitwise-physical-solana-etp\/\">management<\/a>. Additionally, the organization <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/92-applications-for-crypto-etfs-submitted-in-the-us\">awaits<\/a> a decision from the <span data-descr=\"U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SEC<\/span> on a spot Solana ETF.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alpenglow Update: Key to Solana&#8217;s Future?<\/h2>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaneck.com\/us\/en\/blogs\/digital-assets\/matthew-sigel-vaneck-crypto-monthly-recap-for-september-2025\/\">VanEck<\/a> report dated October 3, the Alpenglow upgrade <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/solana-developers-unveil-high-performance-alpenglow-protocol\">will be<\/a> the largest change to Solana&#8217;s consensus since its launch. The update will reduce transaction finalization time to 150 milliseconds, simplify validator operations through off-chain voting, and lower costs via the Validator Admission Ticket system.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Increasing block capacity by 25% and launching the Firedancer client by the end of 2025 will enhance the network&#8217;s scalability and resilience. The P-token library developed by Anza will reduce computational load by 95%, while <span data-descr=\"new data propagation protocol in Solana\" class=\"old_tooltip\">Rotor<\/span> and local signature aggregation will stabilize the blockchain even with 40% of validators offline.<\/p>\n<p>These improvements strengthen Solana&#8217;s position as a platform for DeFi, gaming, and tokenized assets, potentially attracting more institutional investors.<\/p>\n<p>Back in May, experts from Swiss crypto bank Sygnum did not see convincing signs that Solana <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sygnum-assesses-the-rivalry-between-ethereum-and-solana\">would surpass<\/a> Ethereum in institutional preferences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Solana is set to surpass Ethereum as the preferred network for stablecoins and asset tokenization due to its speed and instant transaction confirmation.
