The receiving addresses have not moved the coins since.<\/p>\n<p>SpaceX has not commented on the reasons for the transfers.<\/p>\n<p>In July, Musk&#8217;s firm <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/spacex-moves-bitcoin-for-the-first-time-in-three-years\">engaged<\/a> with cryptocurrency by sending 1,308 BTC worth $152 million to an unknown wallet. At that time, Tesla had acquired $1.5 billion in cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Musk and Bitcoin<\/h2>\n<p>On October 14, Musk commented on the energy efficiency of the economic model of the leading cryptocurrency. That is why Bitcoin is based on energy: you can issue fake fiat currency, and every government in history has done so, but it is impossible to fake energy,&#8221; the billionaire wrote.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Notably, in 2021, Tesla <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/tesla-halts-bitcoin-car-sales-and-roils-the-market\">suspended<\/a> payments in digital gold due to the environmental harm caused by <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/how-bitcoin-mining-works\">mining<\/a>. The announcement led to a market downturn.<\/p>\n<p>Musk promised to reinstate this option once the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ccaf-finds-bitcoin-miners-increasingly-using-cleaner-energy\">share of renewable energy<\/a> in asset mining increases.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jbs.cam.ac.uk\/2025\/cambridge-study-sustainable-energy-rising-in-bitcoin-mining\/\">Cambridge<\/a>, in 2025, this figure exceeded 52%.
