The stablecoin holds 59.11% of the market. Over the past year, the value of on-chain transactions in the region jumped 52% to $205bn, the <a href=\"https:\/\/tether.io\/news\/tether-invests-in-kotani-pay-to-revolutionize-africas-digital-asset-infrastructure-and-cross-border-payments\/\">press release<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of 2024, Tether <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/tether-commits-775-million-to-rival-youtube\">invested<\/a> $775m in the Canadian video hosting and cloud storage service Rumble. In 2025 the company <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/tether-acquires-30-stake-in-italian-media-company-be-water\">invested<\/a> in shares of the Italian media firm Be Water and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/tether-acquires-89-million-stake-in-canadian-gold-mining-firm\">acquired<\/a> a stake in the gold-mining company Elemental Altus Royalties.<\/p>\n<p>The issuer is currently <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/softbank-and-ark-investment-consider-20-billion-investment-in-tether\">holding<\/a> talks with Japan\u2019s SoftBank and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/who-is-cathie-wood-and-how-does-she-promote-bitcoin\">Cathie Wood<\/a>\u2019s Ark Investment to raise $20bn. That would value Tether at up to $500bn, putting it among the world\u2019s most valuable private firms alongside OpenAI and SpaceX.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The firm is also <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/tether-introduces-us-regulated-stablecoin\">preparing<\/a> to enter the US market. By year-end, Tether plans to launch a US-regulated \u201cstablecoin\u201d, USAT.
