This was reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-10-22\/prince-harry-geoffrey-hinton-call-for-ban-on-ai-superintelligence?srnd=phx-ai&#038;embedded-checkout=true\">Bloomberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement organized by the nonprofit Future of Life Institute, a group of scientists and public figures advocated for a ban on developing artificial intelligence that significantly surpasses human capabilities. They urged delaying its creation until there is a &#8220;broad scientific consensus that it can be done safely and under control.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Notable signatories include Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, economist Daron Acemoglu, politician Steve Bannon, and former U.S. National Security Advisor Susan Rice.<\/p>\n<p>Calls to slow AI development have been made before.
