He said this on Joe Rogan\u2019s podcast.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/O4wBUysNe2k?si=bMIfBKn2lKT4c01f\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>They discussed the death of a former OpenAI employee, the replacement of jobs by robots, an AI-shaped future and other topics.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A flying Tesla<\/h2>\n<p>Musk said Tesla plans to release a new Roadster by the end of 2025. The car will feature \u201ccrazy technology\u201d and supposedly be able to \u201cfly\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cMy friend Peter Thiel once remarked that there should be flying cars in the future, but we don\u2019t have them. I think if Peter wants a flying car, there should be a way to buy one,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The billionaire described the vehicle as \u201cmore jaw-dropping than all the James Bond cars put together\u201d. He did not answer follow-up questions about the technology used for flight.<\/p>\n<p>The entrepreneur unveiled a Roadster eight years ago. The model is named after the company\u2019s first electric car, released in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>In July the air-taxi maker Joby Aviation <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/dubai-trials-flying-taxi-service\">delivered<\/a> its first craft in the UAE and completed a phase of pilot testing. The service is slated to launch in the region in 2026.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Suicide or murder?<\/h2>\n<p>On the podcast Musk said the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/former-openai-researcher-found-dead\">death<\/a> of former OpenAI employee Suchir Balaji \u201clooks like a murder\u201d. He pointed to cut surveillance-camera wires, traces of blood in two rooms, a wig found at the scene and a food order placed shortly before the death.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cHe ordered <span data-descr=\"a large American company engaged in home delivery of food and goods\" class=\"old_tooltip\">DoorDash<\/span> right before he allegedly killed himself, which seems unusual. It\u2019s like \u2018I\u2019ll order a pizza, and then I\u2019ll think and kill myself\u2019. That\u2019s a very rapid change in thinking,\u201d the billionaire said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In September the incident was <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sam-altman-on-job-losses-due-to-ai-and-the-tragedy-of-a-former-openai-employee-an-interview\">discussed<\/a> by Sam Altman with Tucker Carlson.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cHe killed himself. I think so,\u201d noted the head of OpenAI.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A city in Texas<\/h2>\n<p>Musk spoke about the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/SpaceX_Starbase\">SpaceX Starbase<\/a> launch site in Texas, which in May was registered as a city.<\/p>\n<p>At present the company carries about 90% of all cargo sent from Earth to orbit.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t often hear: \u2018Hey, we built a city\u2019,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The entrepreneur aims to achieve full rocket reusability within a year, to cut launch costs by a factor of 100.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Artificial intelligence<\/h2>\n<p>Musk said AI systems should \u201cstrive for truth\u201d to avoid political bias. He characterised the influence of ideology on some models as a \u201cwoke mind virus\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s say you told an artificial intelligence that diversity is the most important thing, and after that it became omnipotent. And you also told it that there is nothing worse than misgendering,\u201d the entrepreneur described a thought experiment.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>After that the AI would consider that misgendering Caitlyn Jenner would be worse than a global thermonuclear war in which everyone dies, Musk concluded.<\/p>\n<p>In October the startup xAI <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/xai-launches-a-wikipedia-rival\">launched<\/a> Grokipedia\u2014an artificial-intelligence-based online encyclopedia, \u201coriented toward the truth\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In June Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/elon-musks-proposal-to-cleanse-ai-knowledge-base-sparks-expert-concerns\">said<\/a> that his company would rewrite \u201call human knowledge\u201d to train a new version of the Grok chatbot. In his view, there is \u201ctoo much garbage in any base model trained on uncurated data\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The billionaire faced criticism over the plan. AI specialist Gary Marcus compared it to a dystopia. Later users <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/users-accuse-grok-of-consulting-with-musk\">noticed<\/a> that the chatbot relies on the entrepreneur\u2019s posts on X. This includes the conflict between Israel and Palestine, abortion and immigration law.<\/p>\n<p>The observations suggest Grok was specifically tuned to take Musk\u2019s political views into account when answering contentious questions.<\/p>\n<p>On the podcast the billionaire predicted the replacement of all jobs by artificial intelligence and robots. That would create a \u201cuniversal high-income\u201d society in which work becomes optional.<\/p>\n<p>A government-run artificial intelligence could help with the US national debt and administrative tasks, Musk added.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Buying Twitter<\/h2>\n<p>During the podcast the businessman discussed his purchase of Twitter. According to him, the social network \u201cwas causing harm at a civilisational level\u201d. It had allegedly fallen under the control of the so-called \u201cenlightened crowd\u201d, which \u201cspreads across the world a nihilistic, anti-civilisational mind virus\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cYou can see the results of this mind virus on the streets of San Francisco, where downtown looks like a zombie apocalypse. That\u2019s bad. We don\u2019t want the whole world to turn into a zombie apocalypse,\u201d the entrepreneur added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Encrypted messages<\/h2>\n<p>Musk mentioned the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/elon-musks-xchat-a-dm-replacement-faces-criticism\">upcoming<\/a> XChat messenger \u201cwith encryption, disappearing messages and the ability to send any files\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cOur goal with XChat is to replace the previous Twitter direct-messaging system with a fully encrypted environment in which you can send text messages, files, and also make audio and video calls,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI future<\/h2>\n<p>According to the billionaire, traditional smartphones will disappear and be replaced by \u201cedge nodes\u201d. They will serve as interfaces for AI systems, linking local hardware with cloud servers.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cYou will get everything through AI. Everything you can think of, or everything the technology can anticipate, it will show you.
