The AI can also be tasked with specific actions, like adding an event to the calendar.<\/p>\n<p>The neural network can answer multiple related questions at once, such as:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cIs there an affordable vegan restaurant along my route within a couple of kilometers? How is the parking there?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Drivers can inform Gemini about road incidents, and Maps will proactively notify users of disruptions on the upcoming route.<\/p>\n<p>Google is introducing a new feature in Maps that combines artificial intelligence with Street View to improve navigation prompts. Instead of the standard advice to \u201cturn left in 500 meters,\u201d the app will suggest nearby landmarks such as gas stations, restaurants, or notable buildings.<\/p>\n<p>Gemini matches information about 250 million places with Street View images to identify important and noticeable landmarks for navigation.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to integration with Google Lens, Maps can now answer questions about the surroundings. For instance, users can point the camera at objects of interest and ask, \u201cWhat is this place and why is it popular?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new navigation features will be available on iOS and Android in the US in the coming weeks, and later on Android Auto.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Access to AI Mode<\/h2>\n<p>Alongside the map enhancements, Google <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/11\/05\/google-makes-it-easier-to-access-ai-mode-in-chrome-on-ios-and-android\/\">simplified<\/a> access to AI Mode on mobile devices. A dedicated button now appears under the search bar when opening a new tab in Chrome.<\/p>\n<p>The tool initially launched in the US and will soon be available in 160 countries.<\/p>\n<p>AI Mode \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/google-introduces-ai-mode-in-search-engine\">introduced<\/a> in March, allows users to ask complex questions for in-depth topic exploration directly in Google Search. It processes multiple interconnected queries from various sources, structuring information for a single, coherent answer.<\/p>\n<p>The AI Mode is regularly updated with new capabilities. In August, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/google-expands-ai-mode-to-180-countries\">added<\/a> support for agent functions, enabling users to book restaurant tables.<\/p>\n<p>The service allows users to form requests considering several preferences: party size, date, time, location, and favorite cuisine. The tool analyzes venue availability in real-time and suggests suitable options.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gemini \u2014 Apple&#8217;s Choice<\/h2>\n<p>As Apple currently lacks its own powerful artificial intelligence, the company is turning to competitors. Bloomberg <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-11-05\/apple-plans-to-use-1-2-trillion-parameter-google-gemini-model-to-power-new-siri\">reported<\/a> that the Cupertino firm is close to finalizing a deal with Google, under which the iPhone maker will pay $1 billion annually to integrate a special version of Gemini into Siri.<\/p>\n<p>Apple intends to use Google&#8217;s model until its own AI becomes sufficiently powerful.<\/p>\n<p>The company considered options from OpenAI and Anthropic, but after testing all three solutions, chose Gemini.<\/p>\n<p>The updated Siri is expected in spring 2026, although plans may change, Bloomberg noted.<\/p>\n<p>Back in November, Google <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/google-unveils-plan-for-space-based-ai-hub\">unveiled a plan<\/a> for a space AI hub \u2014 the company will create a satellite system in low Earth orbit to harness solar energy and power data centers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Google is enhancing its Maps application with the artificial intelligence Gemini.
