{"id":90750,"date":"2025-11-07T10:29:52","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T07:29:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=90750"},"modified":"2025-11-07T10:30:26","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T07:30:26","slug":"nvidia-to-supply-ai-chips-worth-2-billion-to-kazakhstan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/nvidia-to-supply-ai-chips-worth-2-billion-to-kazakhstan\/","title":{"rendered":"Nvidia to Supply AI Chips Worth $2 Billion to Kazakhstan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nvidia has signed a memorandum of understanding with Kazakhstan valued at $2 billion, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inform.kz\/ru\/nvidia-boeing-openai-s-kakimi-kompaniyami-kazahstan-zaklyuchil-soglasheniya-v-ssha-ad9706\">Kazinform<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The document was approved by Freedom Holding CEO Timur Turlov and Nvidia&#8217;s Vice President for Global AI Initiatives, Calista Redmond.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/img-f14215d0f3bde9e0-8892783178484815.webp\" alt=\"image\" class=\"wp-image-269144\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: Kazinform.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Under the agreement, the chipmaker will <a href=\"https:\/\/seekingalpha.com\/news\/4517721-nvidia-signs-2b-mou-with-kazakhstan-for-advanced-chips\">provide<\/a> AI chips to Kazakhstan&#8217;s Freedom Holding and the Ministry of Digital Technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, several documents have been signed to expand Kazakhstan&#8217;s international cooperation in education and science. Partners include Arizona State University, Colorado School of Mines, Coursera, OpenAI, and other organizations.<\/p>\n<p>In total, 30 bilateral agreements worth approximately $17.2 billion were formalized at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the &#8220;Tenth Anniversary C5+1&#8221; business conference in Washington. Among them:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Groq;<\/li>\n<li>A memorandum between the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development and Beeline Kazakhstan on implementing Starlink&#8217;s Direct to Cell technology, enabling subscribers to stay connected in remote areas without additional devices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chips in Demand<\/h2>\n<p>Kazakhstan is making significant strides in artificial intelligence development.<\/p>\n<p>In July, a ceremony was held at the Alemcloud National Center to <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/kazakhstan-launches-supercomputer-at-national-centre\">launch<\/a> a supercomputer based on Nvidia H200 GPUs. The event was attended by the country&#8217;s president, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.<\/p>\n<p>The installation and launch of the system took place in a new data center of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, with international partners participating in the project.<\/p>\n<p>The new high-performance <span data-descr=\"graphics processing units\" class=\"old_tooltip\">GPU<\/span> cluster boasts up to 2 exaflops of power using FP calculation methodology, making it the most powerful computing solution in the Central Asian region.<\/p>\n<p>In October, Pavel Durov <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/durov-launches-ai-lab-in-kazakhstan\">presented<\/a> an AI laboratory in Kazakhstan as part of Telegram&#8217;s collaboration with the country&#8217;s supercomputer.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that over the past few months, the company has been working on new technology at the intersection of blockchain and AI. According to Durov, it will allow more than a billion people to use AI functions confidentially, transparently, and efficiently.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2025: The Year of Cryptocurrency in Kazakhstan<\/h2>\n<p>Another area where Kazakhstan is actively advancing is cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n<p>In May, the National Bank <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/kazakhstan-introduces-licensing-for-crypto-exchanges\">developed<\/a> amendments to legislation that establish the legal status of crypto exchange operators and introduce licensing for their activities.<\/p>\n<p>The proposals aim to introduce &#8220;systemic regulation&#8221; of digital asset circulation in the country.<\/p>\n<p>In June, the National Bank approved the issuance of payment cryptocurrency cards linked to wallets on exchanges licensed by the <span data-descr=\"Astana International Financial Centre\" class=\"old_tooltip\">AIFC<\/span>. During a payment transaction, the client&#8217;s digital assets will be sold on the crypto market with their value instantly credited to the card.<\/p>\n<p>In the same month, the regulator <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/kazakhstan-endorses-reserve-of-seized-bitcoins\">initiated<\/a> the creation of a state cryptocurrency reserve, and in September, Tokayev <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/kazakhstan-to-establish-state-cryptocurrency-reserve\">ordered<\/a> the establishment of a digital asset fund to accumulate a strategic reserve.<\/p>\n<p>In August, the Astana International Exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/kazakhstan-launches-central-asias-first-bitcoin-etf\">launched<\/a> trading of the first spot bitcoin <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf\">ETF<\/a> in Central Asia under the ticker BETF.<\/p>\n<p>The product is fully backed by digital gold stored with American custodian BitGo. The company services the largest U.S. bitcoin-based exchange-traded funds, guaranteeing cold storage of assets and insurance coverage up to $250 million.<\/p>\n<p>In September, the Astana Financial Services Authority <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/kazakhstan-permits-regulatory-fee-payments-in-stablecoins\">launched<\/a> an initiative allowing organizations registered at the AIFC to pay regulatory fees in stablecoins pegged to the U.S. dollar.<\/p>\n<p>Bybit Limited became the first company to sign a Memorandum of Understanding during the Astana Finance Days 2025 conference.
