According to the analyst known as Altcoin Sherpa, such a surge could be followed by a \u201cpainful crash\u201d. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ZEC&#038;src=ctag&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ZEC<\/a> we call this stairs up\u2026.let&#8217;s see if it&#8217;s elevator down.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not a fan of this current price action at all and I think that it&#8217;s going to be a great short eventually. Such slow, creeping rallies usually end with a sharp and painful collapse,\u201d he wrote. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The trader known as Greeny <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/greenytrades\/status\/1987994059831652805\">pointed<\/a> to overbought conditions. The current Zcash rally is the longest in the coin\u2019s history. On 4 November the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-the-rsi-is-for-and-whether-it-suits-cryptocurrencies\">RSI<\/a> hit an all-time high of 94.2. This is frequently followed by sharp, months-long corrections ranging from 45% to 90%.<\/p>\n<p>The crypto investor going by Eric Van Tassel expects a lower high on the RSI. That, he says, would signal a top and an impending correction. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is the weekly RSI for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ZEC?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ZEC<\/a>. Since late September, Zcash has been the clear leader, up 707%. For comparison, DASH was second with $5.4bn. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cThe current volumes significantly exceed those of previous periods of hype around privacy coins. At present they amount to ~6% of total market turnover \u2014 a record share in the history of this asset category,\u201d the experts stressed. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Most of the turnover is on Binance \u2014 78%. It is followed by Bybit (17%).<\/p>\n<p>Specialists also pointed to rising activity among retail traders and identified a correlation between privacy tokens and bitcoin. Significant price spikes in privacy coins, they said, often coincide with periods when the first cryptocurrency shows little directional movement. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Galaxy Digital analyst Will Owens <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/galaxy-identifies-zcash-as-a-bitcoin-alternative\">called<\/a> Zcash \u201cthe spiritual successor\u201d to digital gold. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past two months, Zcash (ZEC) has surged 1,500%.
