Its ecosystem is rich with popular DEXs, NFTs, and meme tokens. The total <span data-descr=\"total value locked\" class=\"old_tooltip\">TVL<\/span> of the platform exceeds $9 billion, <a href=\"https:\/\/defillama.com\/chains\">second only to Ethereum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><\/blockquote>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/img-aaf29645997f7508-9505687193413602.webp\" alt=\"Solana_DeFi\" class=\"wp-image-269734\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Major platforms in the Solana ecosystem. Later this month, the service will allow payments via the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/lightning-network-faster-cheaper-bitcoin-transactions\">Lightning Network<\/a>. Even if users do not hold digital gold, they can choose an option where businesses receive the first cryptocurrency instead of dollars.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Once launched, customers will be able to convert USD into a Bitcoin payment with a single tap,&#8221; company representatives said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The company explained that after scanning a QR code, customers can select the Cash option in the app. In this case, funds will be deducted from the dollar balance, yet the seller will still receive Bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p>The Lightning Network allows for the rapid and low-cost transfer of digital gold without using the main network.<\/p>\n<p>Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter (now X), left the company in 2021 to focus on Bitcoin initiatives. He has repeatedly stated his aim to make the first cryptocurrency a daily means of payment.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Dorsey&#8217;s company Block <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/jack-dorseys-block-joins-sp-500-and-announces-bitcoin-payments\">launched<\/a> a pilot project for real-time digital gold payments within the Square app. The service is based on Lightning Network technology.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On July 23, Block was included in the S&#038;P 500 index.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;We see the first cryptocurrency as the future of the financial system, but for it to become everyday money, greater flexibility and ease of use are needed,&#8221; said Miles Suter, head of Bitcoin at Block.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The foundation of Cash App 1.0 is fiat already. Stablecoins are just upgraded fintech rails.
