Representatives of the platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtgox.com\/img\/pdf\/20251027_1cc36334-e8b2-4fe4-8135-97d9a149e4f7_announcement_en.pdf\">explained<\/a> the delay was due to incomplete procedures.<\/p>\n<p>According to Arkham, this is also the first movement of funds exceeding $1 million since March 25. The platform&#8217;s wallets still hold 34,689 BTC, valued at approximately $3.17 billion at the time of writing.<\/p>\n<p>Some market participants speculated that the transfer might be a prelude to asset sales, which could increase pressure on the sector.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cMt.Gox just moved over $900 million in Bitcoin, likely preparing to offload it,\u201d<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JacobKinge\/status\/1990651116904694087\"><em>wrote<\/em><\/a><em> financial analyst Jacob King.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, the wallet that received the funds has yet to send coins to centralized exchanges. Such a move would be a clearer indication of a forthcoming sale.<\/p>\n<p>Mt.Gox was once the largest Bitcoin exchange, handling over 70% of all transactions in the leading cryptocurrency at its peak in 2010. In 2014, the platform collapsed following a hack that resulted in the loss of 850,000 BTC. Since then, efforts have been ongoing to return assets to creditors.<\/p>\n<p>Back in May 2025, Strive Asset Management <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/strive-asset-management-eyes-acquisition-of-75000-btc-claims-from-mt-gox\">announced<\/a> its intention to purchase claims for 75,000 BTC from Mt.Gox.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A wallet linked to the bankrupt Mt.Gox exchange transferred 10,608 BTC, worth over $953 million, to a new address.
