Back in April, Ethereum researcher Dankrad Feist <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-proposes-a-100-fold-increase-in-gas-limit\">proposed<\/a> raising it to 3.6 billion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Donations\u00a0\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>The Ethereum co-founder also donated 256 ETH (~$760,000) to two decentralised messengers\u2014Session and SimpleX Chat. According to him, these applications push the boundaries of digital privacy.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Encrypted messaging, like <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/signalapp?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@signalapp<\/a>, is critical for preserving our digital privacy. The main challenge lies in the very nature of decentralisation required for true metadata protection,&#8221; he noted.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Among the key challenges developers face, Buterin highlighted:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>support for multiple devices;<\/li>\n<li>resilience to <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-sybil-attack\">Sybil<\/a> and <span data-descr=\"Denial-of-Service \u2014 an attack aimed at making a website, application, or server unavailable to regular users by overwhelming it with excessive requests\" class=\"old_tooltip\">DoS<\/span> attacks;<\/li>\n<li>the need to build a reliable identification system without relying on conventional mobile numbers.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The programmer also emphasised that the next steps in the field of decentralised messengers should be the ability to create accounts without permission and metadata protection.<\/p>\n<p>Privacy in messaging applications has become a pressing issue amid controversial initiatives such as the EU&#8217;s &#8220;Chat Control&#8221; bill.
