{"id":91549,"date":"2025-11-28T18:30:42","date_gmt":"2025-11-28T15:30:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=91549"},"modified":"2025-11-28T18:35:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-28T15:35:13","slug":"uzbekistan-recognises-stablecoins-as-legal-tender","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/uzbekistan-recognises-stablecoins-as-legal-tender\/","title":{"rendered":"Uzbekistan Recognises Stablecoins as Legal Tender"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From January 1, 2026, Uzbekistan will <a href=\"https:\/\/lex.uz\/uz\/docs\/-7864242\">implement<\/a> a special legal framework under which stablecoins will become an official means of payment.<\/p>\n<p>On November 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the relevant law titled &#8220;On Measures for the Further Development of Financial Technologies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to the decree, the special legal framework includes:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the implementation of pilot projects to create a payment system based on blockchain technology;<\/li>\n<li>the introduction of a &#8220;regulatory sandbox,&#8221; the duration of which will be determined by the National Agency for Perspective Projects in conjunction with the Central Bank.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Beginning in 2026, legal entities resident in Uzbekistan will be permitted to issue <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-are-tokenised-assets\">tokenised<\/a> shares and bonds.<\/p>\n<p>A separate trading platform will be established on the stock exchange for the placement of these products. Licensed service providers will have access to it.<\/p>\n<p>From January 2024, the illegal acquisition, sale, or exchange of cryptocurrencies will be <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/uzbekistan-enacts-penalties-for-illegal-cryptocurrency-activities\">prohibited<\/a> in the country.
