These assets were received as a reward for successfully mining a block in March 2010, when Bitcoin was worth less than $1.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the reward for block validation in the network is 3.125 BTC, a figure that halves every four years through <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-the-bitcoin-halving\">halvings<\/a>.
