During the same period, Gemini&#8217;s figures increased by 30%. The release of the new image generation model Nano Banana contributed to the app&#8217;s growing popularity.<\/p>\n<p>Google&#8217;s competitive advantage remains its integration with Android. Users often interact with Gemini through the operating system, bypassing separate apps.<\/p>\n<p>The positive trend for the competitor could narrow the gap with ChatGPT. OpenAI has expressed concern about this, as evidenced by a recent &#8220;code red&#8221; memorandum.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"forklogAI\/6521\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>However, the race is not yet over. From May to November, the service&#8217;s share grew by three percentage points, while ChatGPT lost a similar volume since August.<\/p>\n<p>The decline in OpenAI&#8217;s metrics is partly due to the popularity of Perplexity and Claude. In November, users spent 11 minutes a day on the app (+120%).<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT&#8217;s growth was 6% over the same period, and compared to July figures, November&#8217;s figure fell by 10%.<\/p>\n<p>While the data shows a gradual narrowing of the gap between the popularity of ChatGPT and Gemini, Google&#8217;s success is largely due to the release of Nano Banana. OpenAI could regain momentum if it introduces new products with comparable audience impact.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GPT-5.2<\/h2>\n<p>OpenAI plans a counter-move with the update GPT-5.2. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/report\/838857\/openai-gpt-5-2-release-date-code-red-google-response\">The Verge<\/a>, the release could happen as soon as this week.<\/p>\n<p>The publication reports that the release is ready and could occur this week.<\/p>\n<p>The new version aims to close the gap with Google&#8217;s flagship model in benchmarks.
