The former has <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/12\/07\/coinbase-starts-onboarding-users-again-in-india-plans-for-fiat-on-ramp-for-next-year\/\">resumed<\/a> user registration in India, while the latter has <a href=\"https:\/\/robinhood.com\/us\/en\/newsroom\/Robinhood-is-Coming-to-Indonesia\/\">agreed<\/a> to acquire two companies in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Coinbase&#8217;s Return<\/h2>\n<p>The exchange has reopened its app for Indian clients after a two-year hiatus. Since October, the program operated in an early access test mode, and now registration is available to all interested parties.<\/p>\n<p>John O\u2019Loghlen, Coinbase&#8217;s director for the Asia-Pacific region, clarified that users can currently only conduct transactions between cryptocurrencies. Full fiat money deposits and withdrawals are planned for 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-halts-upi-payments-in-india\">ceased<\/a> operations in the country due to regulatory challenges. In April 2022, the exchange had to disable support for the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), and by September 2023, it <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tech\/technology\/coinbase-is-stopping-all-services-for-indian-users\/articleshow\/103558801.cms\">completely halted<\/a> services for Indian clients.<\/p>\n<p>The relaunch was made possible after Coinbase&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/02\/12\/coinbase-eyes-re-entry-to-india\/\">registration<\/a> with the local Financial Intelligence Unit to comply with anti-money laundering regulations.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Robinhood&#8217;s Deals<\/h2>\n<p>The platform announced the acquisition of Indonesian broker PT Buana Capital Sekuritas and crypto trader PT Pedagang Aset Kripto. The purchase will allow the company to enter the market of Southeast Asia&#8217;s largest economy.<\/p>\n<p>Robinhood plans to finalize the deals in the first half of 2026 after receiving approval from Indonesia&#8217;s Financial Services Authority.
