The digital asset market is set to expand by 10 to 20 times over the next decade, stated<\/a> Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan. He supported his confidence with a forecast from SEC Chairman Paul Atkins regarding the deep integration of traditional finance and blockchain.<\/p>\n

Atkins mentioned in an interview with Fox Business<\/a> that he anticipates all U.S. stock markets transitioning on-chain “within a couple of years.” This involves capital amounting to $68 trillion. Currently, the volume of tokenized stocks is about $670 million, indicating a scaling potential of up to 100,000 times.<\/p>\n

Hougan also highlighted the difficulty in predicting the leader among competing blockchains, such as between Ethereum and Solana<\/a>. The outcome is influenced by regulation, macroeconomics, and numerous random factors.<\/p>\n

“People who claim absolute certainty in the victory of a particular network are deluding themselves,” emphasized the executive.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The primary bet for the Bitwise CIO is on the overall growth of the industry. Key drivers will include stablecoins<\/a>, tokenization<\/a>, Bitcoin, DeFi, and prediction markets.<\/p>\n

The expert shared that to mitigate the risk of choosing the wrong asset, he invests in capitalization-weighted index crypto funds. This strategy allows one to profit from the sector’s growth without attempting to predict a specific winner, noted Hougan.<\/p>\n

According to the expert, by 2026, the popularity of index funds will surge due to the increasing complexity of the market structure and the growing number of use cases.<\/p>\n
