They were last active in 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The reasons for the transfers remain unclear. Some users <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/kkomysh\/status\/1998492327594123455\">speculated<\/a> that Silk Road might be &#8220;paying off debts or something similar.&#8221; Others <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/LiberaInvest\/status\/1998634180427788488\">noted<\/a> that the transactions could be related to the consolidation of <span data-descr=\"Unspent transaction output \u2014 unspent transaction output\" class=\"old_tooltip\">UTXO<\/span>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In January, Coinbase&#8217;s Director of Product Conor Grogan <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-executive-identifies-430-btc-linked-to-ross-ulbricht\">discovered<\/a> 430 BTC in dozens of wallets, allegedly linked to Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht. That same month, U.S. President Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/donald-trump-pardons-ross-ulbricht\">signed<\/a> an order for his full and unconditional pardon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>U.S. authorities arrested Ulbricht in 2013. In 2015, District Judge Katherine Forrest found him guilty of drug trafficking, conspiracy to traffic drugs, hacking computer networks, money laundering, and leading a criminal enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>The platform&#8217;s creator received a double life sentence without the possibility of parole.<\/p>\n<p>Ulbricht&#8217;s case garnered significant public attention.
