The expert&#8217;s forecast suggests a 42% drop from the current level.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;Starting to think we will just need a huge bear market to wash out the idiots who think the Quantum threat to Bitcoin is a joke, and to incentive the maxis into taking action to upgrade the network,&#8221; he wrote.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Edwards, a solution needs to be deployed by 2026. The head of Capriole warned that inaction will lead to the largest crash in history, making the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/greed-and-recklessness-why-the-ftx-collapse-is-being-likened-to-the-2008-crisis\">FTX collapse<\/a> seem like a &#8220;walk in the park.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In a separate post, he <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/caprioleio\/status\/2001146894236704770\">stated<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;The four-year Bitcoin cycle is over. The quantum one has begun.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quantum Threat Still Distant<\/h2>\n<p>Many experts <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BTCBama\/status\/2001135805629178287\">believe<\/a> that quantum computing will hit banks before Bitcoin. Among them is analyst <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/willy-woo-suggests-segwit-as-a-shield-against-bitcoins-quantum-risk\">Willy Woo<\/a>. In his view, by that time developers will have implemented quantum-resistant encryption standards.<\/p>\n<p>To protect digital gold, Woo also <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/willy-woo-suggests-segwit-as-a-shield-against-bitcoins-quantum-risk\">suggested<\/a> moving assets to <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-segregated-witness\">SegWit<\/a> addresses and keeping them there for about seven years. A similar initiative was <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/developers-propose-quantum-resistant-solution-for-bitcoin\">voiced<\/a> by a group of developers led by Casa&#8217;s CTO Jameson Lopp.<\/p>\n<p>Their plan involves a mass migration of users to secure addresses and the subsequent locking of vulnerable old wallets.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin maximalist <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/who-is-adam-back-and-how-is-he-linked-to-bitcoins-creation\">Adam Back<\/a> considers the danger exaggerated.
