The platform then expanded its presence to the L2 networks <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/synthetix-to-phase-out-arbitrum-in-favour-of-base\">Arbitrum<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/synthetix-unveils-third-version-of-protocol-on-base\">Base<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, the launch of Synthetix Perps on the mainnet of the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization will be in beta testing mode for 500 experienced traders. It will support three assets: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, with leverage up to 50x for each pair. The option to withdraw funds will be available in about a week.<\/p>\n<p>The developers announced the &#8220;daily&#8221; opening of new markets over three months, increased leverage, expanded liquidity, and other features.<\/p>\n<p>Synthetix noted that scaling plans for L2 networks involve significant trade-offs for applications. Ethereum offers several advantages for implementing a &#8220;high-performance, non-custodial platform for perpetual options,&#8221; including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>security of L1 assets, storage, deposit, and withdrawal directly on the blockchain \u2014 complete absence of bridge connections;<\/li>\n<li>genuine compatibility with all DeFi applications on the mainnet;<\/li>\n<li>creation of market mechanisms for position liquidation \u2014 &#8220;no insiders and behind-the-scenes deals.&#8221;  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;The main advantage is that most of the crypto liquidity, assets, and margin are concentrated in Ethereum \u2014 practically everything is there.
