ETHA from BlackRock, ETHW from Bitwise and EZET from Franklin Templeton went \u201cinto the red\u201d by $25m, $13.9m and $5.6m, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Kronos Research chief investment officer Vincent Liu <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/383717\/spot-bitcoin-ether-etfs-outflows-christmas\">explained<\/a> the sector\u2019s weakness by seasonal technical factors rather than a shift in long-term sentiment. In his view, the market is being driven by thinner holiday liquidity, routine portfolio rebalancing and natural year-end profit-taking.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cThe flows have been unstable over the past couple of months, and some degree of end-of-year risk reduction and tidying up of the balance sheet is normal, especially after a volatile fourth quarter,\u201d added Presto Research research fellow Rick Maeda.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Altcoin ETFs\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>Exchange-traded funds based on <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-are-ripple-and-the-cryptocurrency-xrp\">XRP<\/a> have drawn capital for the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/xrp-etfs-continue-positive-streak-amid-bitcoin-outflows\">27th consecutive trading session<\/a>. The largest fund is XRPC from Canary.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-solana-sol\">Solana<\/a> ETFs also continue to post positive figures. On 22 December, the products took in $7.4m. Its share of the ETF sector consistently hovered between 70% and 85%, writes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/383550\/etf-data-bitcoin-dominance-firm-2025-ethereum-gained-share\">The Block<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Big players view the first cryptocurrency as the primary point of entry to the market. They approach other digital assets with far more selectivity and caution.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"420\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/data\/etfs\/etf-comparison\/spot-etf-market-share-by-coin\/embed\" title=\"Spot ETF Market Share by Coin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Since January, bitcoin-focused products have attracted more than $21.7bn. However, total assets under management fell from $119bn to $114bn amid a pullback in the asset.<\/p>\n<p>Trading volumes held steady, but a shift emerged in December: throughout the month, daily turnover rarely reached $5bn.<\/p>\n<p>Ethereum captured 15-30% of the crypto-ETF sector, signalling improved sentiment toward altcoins overall.
